How It Works

Neti Pots, from Ayurvedic medicine, have become popular among natural health practitioners and consumers over the past 5 years. These ceramic pots are designed to flush out your nasal passages and are often go-to products for congestion and to help maintain sinus health.*

Directions for Use

Combine only clean, sterile boiled water or purified bottled water with a pinch of Original Himalayan Crystal Salt® to create a saline solution.

Pour into the center opening of the neti pot.

Tilt your head to the side over a sink then place the spout of the neti pot in your upper nostril. While breathing through your open mouth, gently and slowly pour the saline solution into your nostril. The liquid drains through the lower nostril closest to the sink. Turn your head to the other side and repeat on the other nostril.

IMPORTANT: Please, never use tap water in your neti pot! Always use sterile boiled water or purified water.

Environmental Impact

To ensure a safe working environment, and to lessen the potential environmental impact on our planet, we do not use explosives in any of our mining processes. ⁠

But, our commitment to having the smallest environmental impact possible extends far beyond our no explosives policy. To minimize the impact we have on local flora, fauna, streams and landscapes, we use only hand-mining techniques to extract our salts and, rather than carve wide roads into the valley and mountainside to cater for large trucks, we make the choice to use man-power and donkeys to transport our crystal stones from the mine to the sorting and packing facilities.⁠

We believe in forming deep relationships that are life changing, not just with our customers, but also with our business partners around the world.

Having worked in developing countries for 22 years we realized early on that by paying 20-30% more through Fair Trade type programs for commodities like coffee, herbs or salt, the income of the local communities was significantly improved.

However, we learnt that we could make an even greater impact by establishing strong joint-venture partnerships with the local people to create value-added goods, small industry, and year-round employment, we could inject up to 10 times the amount of money into those communities and really change lives.

How do I use the Neti Pot?

Bend over the sink and turn your head to one side.  Keeping the pot level, place the spout into the top nostril until it has a snug fit.  Breathe through your mouth and slowly tip your head downward allowing the warm water to travel through your sinuses and out the other nostril.  Use half the water and repeat on the other side.  If you experience an uncomfortable sensation, adjust the level of salt.  Sometimes too little salt can be as uncomfortable as too much salt.

Which type of Original Himalayan Crystal Salt® do I use with the Neti Pot?

You may use either the Fine Granulated Original Himalayan Crystal Salt® or the Sole made with your Original Himalayan Crystal Salt® Stones with your neti pot.

To use the Fine Granulated Salt, dissolve ½ teaspoon of the salt in 8 ounces of warm water.

To use the Sole, combine 1 ½ teaspoons of the Sole with 8 ounces of warm water.
